Chartered on January 11, 1997, by twenty-six dedicated women, the Pitt County Alumnae Chapter (PCAC) of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated was established to serve, uplift, and empower the residents of Pitt County, North Carolina. Chartered to extend the sorority’s legacy of public service and social action, PCAC proudly serves communities throughout Pitt County, including Ayden, Bethel, Farmville, Greenville, Grifton, Winterville, and surrounding areas.
At the time of the chapter's inception, Pitt County was undergoing a significant demographic shift-from a primarily rural area to a growing metropolitan region. The expansion of the medical facilities and industrial enterprises contributed to population growth and increased demand for community resources and services. Recognizing these evolving needs, the charter members were intentional in extending their service beyond the county seat of Greenville to reach underserved communities throughout the county.
Guided by the core values of service, scholarship, sisterhood, and social action the chapter remains committed to improving lives through education, health initiatives, civic engagement, and community service. Through purposeful programming, leadership development, and advocacy, PCAC continues to strengthen communities, address critical needs, and create lasting impact across Pitt County and beyond.
