SOCIAL ACTIONS
Serving through advocacy, education, and community engagement.”
WE ARE Social Action
On March 3, 1913—just weeks after its founding—Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated made its first public act of service by participating in the historic Women’s Suffrage March in Washington, D.C. From its inception, the 22 collegiate founders established an organization committed to advocacy, civic engagement, and the pursuit of equity and justice for marginalized and disenfranchised communities.
More than a century later, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated remains steadfast in its commitment to social action at the local, regional, national, and international levels.
Under the leadership of the National Social Action Commission, members are called to advance the following priorities:
National Social Action Commission Priorities
- Voting & Civic Engagement
- Reproductive Justice
- Health Equity
